Mars has always fascinated Earthlings. For decades, we’ve been sending probes, landers, and rovers in an effort to uncover one of its best-kept secrets: Did the planet once harbor life? The latest “resident” to explore the Red Planet is the Perseverance rover, which landed in 2021. At the top of its mast sits SuperCam, a powerful laser instrument developed by CNES and the IRAP laboratory. A collaboration between Macon&Lesquoy and CNES.
